TIME

I had a night with Father Time

He offered me a glass of wine

He makes a lonely girl feel fine

Till he’s gone, and he takes your days along

I used to live in a big home

A country farm with fields to roam

Now in this city I’m alone

Time moved on, and he took my days along

Don’t go spending all your days on change

Time runs out and nothing stays the same, anyway

I met a boy with long hair

But fall in love I do not dare

How I recall being left there

Last time I tried, well Time he lied

I didn’t know that it could end

I thought forever was my friend

But oh how Time likes to pretend

Days went by, and Time he lied

Don’t go spending all your days on change

Time runs out and nothing stays the same, anyway

Few hundred miles down the road

All my belongings in this load

I’ve got a distance yet to go

But I move slow

Well I know by the time I land

That I can look into these hands

And in the lines I’ll understand

Where it goes

Yes Time moved on, and he took my days along
